Sad Day at Massabesic Middle School for the Visual Arts Program!
It is unfortunate that Visual Art will not be offered to 7th and 8th grade students next year. The Art program has been reduced to serve 6 graders only.

7th grade students have been working hard on their animations. Students created their cartoon characters and background. They had to come up with a situation and think about what would be moving and how to render that. They used their laptops and iMovie HD program to create their animations. Have fun watching their animations.
Massabesic students were fortunate to witness 2 concerts in the last few weeks.
On February 19, 2010 The North Yarmouth Academy Rock Ensemble
under the direction of Mr. Ian Ramsey performed for Massabesic Middle School.
On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Bay State Winds (clarinet quartet from the Air Force Band of Liberty)
was artists-in-residence at our school.
Throughout the day, band students participated in master classes
and there was a final all-school performance at the end of the day.

I want to welcome the 3rd quarter art students and say goodbye to the 2nd quarter art students. I hope you had a great quarter and learned a lot in Art class. I just updated the 7th grade Checkerboard Designs and the 8th grade Textured Hands Designs. I update the Art Webpage often so you want to visit on a regular basis. Remember that this page is there for your enjoyement. It’s an online Art Show.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hussey
On Decemer 8, 2009, The Massabesic M iddle School Chorus, Sixth Grade Band, Seventh & Eight Grade Band and Jazz Band performed for the whole school in the afternoon and for family and friends in the evening.
It was a great performance. Click here to see the slide show of the concert.
If you wish to buy a DVD of the performance, see Miss Ramsey or Mrs. Ambrose for an order form. All proceeds benifit the Music and Art program at the middle School. The cost is $12.00 . The DVD can be viewed on your computer or on your DVD player, so you can enjoy it on your television. The quality of the video is excellent. It was recorded on a full High Definition camera. You do not need to watch the whole concert, each single performance can be acessed using the menu and selecting just that part of the concert.
There are many additions on the 7th and 8th grade art web page.
You can view some great little animations from the 7th grade and the 8th grade clay project. They created a tea pot and tea cup. We finished the project with a Fun Tea Party. Enjoy the 1st quarter webpage. It will eventually change with the 2nd quarter art projects.
A new school year is about to start. There will be a few changes on the pages I will be working on . I will make pages for the Visual Arts and Performing Arts( Music Concerts, Drama and Talent Show. I will also maintain the “Sports MVPs” for the High School students.
The 8th grade students celebrated their Promotion to the High School with an evening dance on June 19, 2009
